Which album has the best opener of all time? Pic related gets my vote, Only Shallow is absolute perfection.

MBV beaten at their own game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvK_AY5gfeY
Headmaster Ritual, London Calling, Rocks Off or Thunder Road imo
this album was alright but i dont get the fetish for it
It's pretty sad that Taxman has never been topped
Wouldn't It Be Nice, Baba O' Riley, Seagull, I Zimbra
Just going off the top of my head, I'm sure I've missed better ones.

what is this and why is it so good

>>63393639
>>63394098
nevermind it goes all downhill after the first track
Already beat you all, niggas
Psssh… Nothin Personnel… Kid…
>>63393592
I don't think it's shoegaze.
>>63393456
you had one job and you didn't post bossanova
we're talking about best openings here
Ladies and Gentlemen We're Floating in Space
>>63394289
Perfection
And LCW and TM&A
>>63393914
Talking Head's first 4 albums have fantastic openings. They're also up there with Can as the greatest streak of albums ever.
>>63395372
Yeah, the only good track on that album.
This album is straight shit. Only -ok- song is the opener.
>>63393456
because the whole album is the opener?
>>63394289
I GET UPPPPPP
I GET DOWWWWWWWWN

>>63395353
also this
step it up, boys
>one

>snare kick snare
the drums alone make this track nearly perfect

Great Choices
>>63395427
>TM&A
Nah. Interstate 8 has a great opener though.
>>63393456
Only shallow is the weakest track on Loveless.
bonefish
>>63396898
Well aren't you the contrarian...
>>63396992
That's not really an unpopular opinion. Personally, I don't think it's the worse, but it's certainly not the best either.
>>63393456
If you claim that some posercore /mu/ album is the best of anything you need to consider suicide. Getting brainwashed by /mu/'s shitty opinions is as bad as becoming a authoritarian conservative right wing white nationalist because you got fooled by /pol/.
>>63396992
I did not disagree with your opinion. It's a strong opener, but compared to the rest of the album, it's pale in comparison. Loomer and Touched do a better job of setting the mood for the best track in shoegaze, and from there on, it's just complete bliss.
>>63393592
generic noisepop, nothing more.
>>63397062
Stop injecting politics into everything.
>>63393456
GOAT opener is Like a Rolling Stone, this is fact.
Dream House is one of the best openers of all time
>>63397062
I'm feeling generous today. you can have mine.
>>63397134
>1 post
>everything
No
>>63395433
>he fell for the meme
Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space has many good tracks on it. You only think it doesn't because the one track thar comes immediately after the opener in bad
>>63397226
Even Come Together isn't that bad of a song
Its just that the first track and the ending stretch of the album is so massively good it looks shit in comparison
>>63395821
>WHERE ARE THE OBLIGATORY NIGGERS
nah
Or possibly Speed Trials by Elliott Smith
>>63397525
HEY THERE FUCKFACE
>>63397134
>generic noisepop, nothing more.
lmfao
>no mention of Like a Rolling Stone
>>63397598
>Speed Trials
that's probably the weakest of all his openers m8
>>63395520
Lol rodan. Did not expect seeing this ever on /mu/
>>63394883
Yes

Kill yourself nigger
>>63393456
of the two mbv lps, the better opener has to go to mbv rather than loveless, even if loveless is a better album in almost every way
Kanye West and Marvin Gaye are the undisputed kings of opening tracks.
>>63393456
Cherub Rock is pretty goddamn perfect.
IT'S SO COLD
>>63395548
Because it's a long album
:--)
