Why is nobody talking about new releases? Have no albums worth discussing or sharing come out or is this board shit? I've only seen discussions about Painting With, TLOP, and Blackstar. Catch me up on new stuff
>>
Tim Hecker came out with Love Streams
Nonkeen came out with The Gamble, which is prob my fav 2016 album so far
>>

The Gamble is awesome. Also probably my favorite so far. Haven't gotten around to Tim Heckers new stuff.

To answer your question OP, it's because memes.

TLOP was shit.
PW was mediocre.
Blackstar is pretty good.

Puscifer's new album, Money $hot was meh, their worst release for sure.

Animal Collective's Painting With had more likable tracks than Centipede Hz to me, but that's not saying much.

To Live Vicariously, the new album from Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat is one of the better newer albums I've heard personally. They've switched from their neo-folk sound to more of an electronic new wave post-punk sound.

Nice man. I didn't expect another anon to know about The Gamble
>>
>>63388631
Yeah a friend of mine who's pretty involved in the electronic scene turned me onto him/her/them, and showed me the newest album and I instantly fell in love.

One of the first albums in a while where I actually enjoy every song equally.

Nonkeen is three German guys. One of them is Nils Frahm, who is already well-known for his piano stuff. I would recommend him as well, but he's quite different than what you hear on The Gamble.
>>
>>63388717
Oh cool. Definitely going to check out him and some of Nonkeens older stuff.
>>
Ulver's new album from January is phenomenal.
>>
>>63388456
What do you mean "came out"? Love Streams is not for another 3 weeks.
>>
>>63388795
Not the guy, but I'm fairly sure it leaked.

I found the latest Tim Hecker really underwhelming honestly... Really not the same intensity as Ravedeath, 1972 or Harmony In Ultraviolet. I'll give it an other try soon but until now, a bit disappointed nonetheless.

But 2016 has been a really good year so far in electronic music, so we'll see what the next months will bring. Roly Porter's Third Law and Paul Jebanasam's Continuum first.
