Capitalism is good under moderation, the US does a good job with it and not turning it into an system full of monopolies within markets and human rights breaches. That being said, it has to borrow a lot from systems that contradicts it like socialism to ensure that the US economy won't go into complete devastation. Which is why I always laugh when retards on 4chan think that capitalism is a bulletproof system and think that the US has always been pure capitalistic, just like I laugh at the tumblr/left wing retards who think pure socialism or communism could work.

"Getting rid of capitalism" would entail getting rid of competition for goods and resources. Without competition the world would be a precarious place. All decisions would have to be made either unanimously or by a centralised power, and centralised powers fail catastrophically if ithey make a wrong decision, which it inevitable does given time.
If completely getting rid is not what is intended, then we're not really getting rid of capitalism, we'd just be modifying it. But we already live in modified versions of capitalism, with state regulation to varying degrees.
Capitalism is brutal because the rich and powerful are never willing to yield anything to those below, but it's quite literally the best we can do.
