Which singers can/could replicate their studio voice almost perfectly when performing live?
pic unrelated
Roger Waters
Michael Jackson
even though he used a lot of lipsync because it was too hard to sing decently while doing his routine, but he still was pretty good live

Here's Billie Jean without lipsync and with the whole routine, i think it's pretty impressive actually
Jeff Mangum.

>lip sync
what a fucking hack
>>63367254
SO YA
Grimes
>>63367258
That moonwalk still gets me, man.
>>63367291
yeah maybe, i think with him it's justified though, it was a whole show with the dancing and all, and he usually didn't use lipsync throughout a whole show, only during songs with a lot of dancing
he might be lip syncing but the dancing is real, so yeah
Freddie Mercury
Tom Petty
John Mayer comes to mind, Dustin Kensrue

Grace Slick

Bono.
He goes completely off the tracks while singing songs live, but when they decide to stick to the original order and lyrics in a concert you can understand why his ego is the size of Ireland's drinking problem.
Dude has a great voice and an even better performer, even if their music is getting terrible.
>>63367233
Bjork
>>63367233
gg alinn
blixa bargeld
>>63367777

Justin Timberlake is pretty baller as well.
Tom Chaplin(especially in 2007)
and like other anon said: Jeff Mangum
>>63372233
Jeff Mangum is also not impressive in his singing or instrumentation so that's not saying much.
>>63372233
Wonderwall is easy to sing live too but that doesnt make it impressive.
Singers with really throaty voices struggle the most. Like Axl Rose for example.
Victoria Legrand can
Hope Sandoval
First time I ever heard a performer live that actually sounded like their studio music was Mary J. Blige singing Be Without You at a New Years thing or something. I legit used to love that song
Say what you will, Caleb is still a great lead.
Also I'll fight anyone who says Closer isn't a great song.

Then Koji

Hellen keller
Also father smurf
Robert Plant, not sure if exactly the same but really good live nonetheless

Have you seen any videos of Jeff Mangum performing live from the recent tours. His voice has become incredibly impressive, he's like a human autotune.
>>63372200
This. Ive watched some of his vid, and although his music is probably seen for pleb here, you have to watch his live performances. The entourage, the dancing (even if you dont care about dancing), the live music (with a slight rock edge), the whole package is just fucking world class.
Don't be fooled by his popmusic, it's actually pretty technically impressive when done live, and his singing is on fucking point as well.
Just watch his songs like My Love, Sexyback, What goes around, etc..

>>63379096
well his voice sounds spot on but his stage presence doesn't match what you would imagine he looked like based on his music.
I don't really care. Someone might though.
