Hey guys.
I'm thinking about learning german. Do you know any bands with german speaking that I should check out? What is the best german-core? It might help me to learn passively
I can't really tell what I'm into, there's a lot of different shit, so I'll just drop my lastfm:
http://www.last.fm/fr/user/TheFrenchJerk
Rammstein is shit music but has easy and very clean vocals. It's catchy too, it's good for learning.
krautrock:
>ihre kinder
>prof wolfff (!!!!!!!!!!)
pop:
herbert grönemeyer
falco (austrian but doesnt matter)
teenagecore:
tokio hotel
theres also a lot of "punk" bands, but the famous ones are trash. google might help here if youre into that
theres probably a lot more but these are the ones that i like

well I never listened to them, even in my edgy years. Nice advice m8, it will still do
>>63353975
thanks for the krautrock, I like the genre but most of the bands I like have almost no lyrics.
anything else guys?
Anything Neue Deutsche Welle
Kraftwerk
it won't help you unless you already have a base understanding and are trying to work on your hearing/pronunciation

yeah of course, I won't just listen to music and hope it will help me. I'm going to take german lessons next year at uni.

Also German's a pretty fun language once you get the hang of it.
Die Toten Hosen is easy to listen to too.

This is all the crappy stuff I used to listen to in freshman year, but it did help me a lot in german, got an award for it each year. The last three especially sound pretty much the same to me.
I agree Rammstein is probably the best band to learn the language to. I'm not into their music anymore (was in a cringy tumblr fandom even) but I went to a couple concerts in high school and they put on a great show.
Are there any decent bands that sing in German, besides Kraftwerk? Any good ones I know are bands who don't do too many vocals so they're kinda ruled out.

Speaks the truth, it got me through German at school.
And there is much worse out there.

I kinda sorta recommend ASP. It's gothic rock with some electronica mixed in, and the word choice is adequate enough for me. But they're also a bit edgy and have really simple english songs (that part's not what you're looking for, but still). If you start listening to them, I'd say try the Requiembryo album first. There's some tracks I personally thought were fun to translate, learning German myself and all.

might as well just learn arabic at this point
