>>
>>63307658
Why did you ask the question if you were just going to argue with people who gave you the answer?

>garridge
This tune here, an absolute anthem, precedes Burial's first release by four years.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30rgXwnwBRQ

>dubstep
This here is the first release on hyperdub and certainly far from the first dubstep tune ever made.

Lol what? Show me any songs that come close to kaliko.

it's completely plausible to call burials sound very innovative, especially when he came out with it. don't really know why there is a heavy dismissal against it, maybe because he got so popular. but go ahead link an artist that sounded like him before him

>>63309281
i didn't claim for a fucking second he created those genres? are you daft? i just said he sounded like nobody else
>>
>>63309309
Many more have done way more influential things for dubstep. Quick sucking burial's dick. The music's average at best.

Much of Kode9's early material sounds much like Burial.
That's mainly because Will wanted to impress him, so he gets signed on hyperdub.
>>
>>63309529
OK fair enough, i don't enough about kode9s early material, care to link what u claim

You don't even fucking know who Kode9 is, which is ridiculous considering how much you like sucking Will's third rate cock.
>>
>>63309607
so you have a problem linking the songs? i know very well who fucking kode9 is
>>
>>63309309
Loefah, Skream, El-B, Horsepower, Digital Mystikz and Rusko all did far more for the genre

>>
>>63309638
really cuz aside from maybe Skream, they never put out any albums that were remotely influential, much less as influential asUntrue
>>
>>63310032
>albums

you are really out of touch about the genres u talking about
>>
>>63310021
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the more cheesy poppy, RnB influenced 2-step of the late 90s/early 00s, but this might be up your alley:

Hi, Im not in this argument fyi, but as someone who listens to basically no electronic music but wants to get into it, how is music generally formatted? I mean I guess it's not like rock or hip-hop where everything is put into albums. How is electronic music organized, if not with albums? I don't know if these are stupid questions but like I said, I'm a complete beginner.
>>
>>63310230
singles and eps are the formats of choice.
>>
I wish I could produce garage or even jungle. I can't get those genres down. As soon as I get something going I feel like I'm being too repetitive even though repetition is very common in the genres.
>>
cmon mates

>>
>>63310256
Ah I see. Another thing I'm confused about is the differences between genres such as House, Techno, Breakbeat, Garage, Dubstep, Electro and so on. Well, I guess if I listen to enough of it I'll figure out the differences. But my question is how do you find good electronic music? I hardly ever see any essentials charts or anything, which is what I usually use for getting my feet wet in a new genre. What are your favorite ways of finding music in these genres?

I know I sound really stupid and kind of patronizing but that's the nice thing about anonymity.
>>
Brostep gets a bad rep. It gets associated with complextro bullshit like Skrillex too much. When I say brostep I mean the heavier stuff Caspa and Rusko were doing early on. Even though the word was pretty much was invented for songs like Cockney Thug it is remembered as Bass Cannon shit.
>>
>>63310378
Honestly one of the best things to do is find a DJ/producer you like and then listen their mixes and dj sets. You'll find a lot of good tunes that way. Also discogs is a good resource: find a producer you like, look up the labels they've released on, and check out the other producers who have released on that label. Rinse and repeat. It's all about taste, you'll find out what you like and what you don't - I find "essential charts" for dance to be useless.

Also, another obvious answer is to go to a club if you have a good one in your vicinity.
>>
>>63310496
Thanks for the help man :)
>>
>>63309096
Not OP, but if you think Zomby and Burial sound the same I think it's you who needs to listen to more music.
>>
>>63309629
I've listened to all of Kode9s material, can confirm they do not sound the same at all.

This idiot probably thinks Bach and Beethoven sound the same
>>
>>63310420
Caspa and Rusko both suck. Just because they're better than Skrillex that doesn't make them good.
