Correct me if I'm wrong but i think countless movie soundtracks are performed by orchestras and they are modern western art music and by no means classical. Off the top of my head though, I would suggest JG Thirlwell's Steroid Maximus, the music that inspired The Venture Bros

Most of Bjork's albums. Lot's of old vocal jazz uses full orchestras, some post-rock. Orchestras are pretty ubiquitous throughout music really.
