Why is it considered cool to be a clown nowadays? Whatever happened to the days when it was cool to be real?
>>
You should know OP, you're the biggest clown of them all
>>
It's ironic, self-aware, and subversive, OP.
>>
Are you insinuating that Lil B the Basedgod is a clown? Because if you are you can go fuck yourself. He's cooler and more real than you will ever be.

yo watch this or at least fast forward to 1:29. my man Father John Misty has a very good take on it

"being real" as it used to be seen (rappers keeping it hood, rockers wearing leather and trashing hotels for no reason) is being seen more and more for what it was: an affectation. gimmicks used to appeal to a wider audience. crafted personalities and public personas.

but authenticity, where an artist is just clearly presenting themselves with transparency, thats what it means to be real, bro. and thats whats cool. and thats why people dig Lil B even tho he makes shit music. he's consistently being himself.

off yourself

That's not what being real is. That's what over compensating is. Being real is being yourself, laying it all out on the surface with no irony and no sarcasm.
>>
>>63266061
are you retarded? Lil B is the REALEST rapper of all time. not in terms of street cred but just pure realness
>>
>>63267054
Irony is what people run to when they have nothing real to say. You don't have to take responsibility, you don't have to try. Lil B is Andrew Wk without the talent.
>>
>>63267118
irony is not a word that belongs next to lil b like that, just educate yourself

You know, people always talk about how rap has gone to shit, but honestly it has recovered quite a lot. Look at Kendrick, Cole, Logic, or Joey Badass. All phenomenal rappers.
