Because I spent the last 3 hours telling my gf about my inner demons and now I'm wondering if she's gonna be my girlfriend in the morning, or go back to being a complete stranger
>>
>>63246854
If she leaves she would't be a good gf anyways brother
>>
>>63246811
I cant sleep so I'm smoking a bowl and listening to some Modern Baseball and SDRE
>>
>>63246811
Why adderal if you want to relax? Why not Valium?
>>
>>63246811

I got the house alone for 3 days. No Family. Been smoking ridiculous amounts of weed getting delusional in my house forgetting who I am and why I'm so scared of life.

Blues is really all I've been listening to.
>>
>>63246854
If she leaves you she ain't shit. Why do you feel this way man do you have any reason to doubt her?
>>
Took some molly like 7 hours ago and now I'm just listening to Clams Casino. Everyone is asleep and I just want to talk.

>>63246854
It's going to be fine dude, I bet she'll understand.
>>
>>63246917
Exactly how I feel, I wanna fucking text people but everyone is asleep
>>
>>63246936
I had this great conversation with someone who lives in my building that I had never spoken to before.

But now it's 5 AM and my only comfort is Instrumentals 2.

What are you listening to anon?
>>
>>63246989
Some A$AP Rocky, Jukebox Joints is really great
>>
>>63246811
I haven't been able to sleep more than 2 hours straight since I was in high school.
I was listening to some Lee Hazelwood, but I kind of feel sick, so I came for meems.
>>
>>63247032
Good shit, I find Rocky perfect for this time of night/morning.

I don't know if I prefer A.L.L.A. over Long.Live, but it was definitely an appreciative surprise.

Can't find work, no skills, two months behind on rent. Kinda fucked this whole life thing up.

I'm gonna go someplace that's warm year-round before I become homeless, don't wanna be homeless in the winter time here, it would suck.

Oh, and yeah, I wish someone loved me etc.
>>
>>63247164
yeah i think i do. idk. nobody's ever loved me in my life. ive had a couple of friends but they leave eventually. i just want someone to ask me how my day was. i just want someone to lie down and cuddle with. thats all i want man.

>>63247110
Holy fuck, I'm vibing really hard with ALLA right now. This shit's great, everything from the production, to A$AP's flow, to the features. I think I accidentally slept hard on this album when it first dropped, but I'm revisiting it now, and it's great.
>>
>>63247220
Oh, you want someone who feels affection for you...
Don't worry anon. It's not that bad. Yes, it hurts. But you just have to face the fact that this is not a time for sensible souls. Too postmodern. Once you feel comfortable with that idea, you will be able to handle the sadness, and then you might find someone to cuddle with.
>>
>>63247237
>this is not a time for sensible souls. Too postmodern.

sorry, it's 5 am, what do you mean by this?
>>
>>63247220
yup, i'm pretty much at the same point in life. the worst thing is i realize i fucked up a lot of relationships because of being a fucking asshole to them, so i couldnt really ask for a better outcome. things are really dreadful and they get even worse when i think about the "what ifs".

currently on the super comfy indie pop binge, maybe sb will like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSX3_qTcQEM

Postmodernism tries to negate any definition given to anything. For example, homosexuality has always been seen as something antinatural (yes, even the greeks!), but we as a society started to question that, and deconstructing the idea of sexuality in a way that homosexuality is now permisible (and even praised from time to time). However, it has its side effects. Speaking of the deconstruction of sexuality, an intrinsic value of the exercise of it (aka sexual intercourse) was personal attachment. Since we're questioning everything (starting with the act of sex for procreation), feelings are not an exception. So this new definition of sex as just a bodily function makes feelings obsolete. Someone who has been raised with romanticist values (emotions as the source of beauty), this philosophy is poisonous.
>>
>>63247133
I'll love you if you accept that Public castration is their best album
>>
>>63247357
I see what you're saying..
I don't know. I'll think about it. Interesting perspective definitely. Right now I just want to wallow in my misery and listen to swans. tomorrow I'll go to the gym and I'm seeing my therapist too. Maybe things will be better.
>>
>>63247404
Have you tried creating art? Not necessarily music. It's really therapeutic.
>>
>>63247402
Well 2bqhwyfamily, I haven't heard it yet. I found out about Swans because of TBK getting memed and when I did some research into them I found out about their progression as a band. I decided I wanted to listen to their music in chronological order. Right now I'm getting into their earlier stuff, Filth -> Public. But since Public Castration is a live album, I want to be acquainted with the studio albums first before I hear it. So I'm listening to Filth -> Holy Money for the 3rd time now, and then I'll listen to to PC. Of the first 4 albums my favorite is Greed.
>>
>>63247237
Someone longing for affection is simply the most deserving to find it.
You are a person of strong and decent feelings, if life would give these feelings to you then it would want you to satisfy them with someone.

>>63247323
kek
>>
>>63247424
No, not really. Well, I do play the violin, since I used to in high school. That's kind of an on and off thing. I do really enjoy it, it can be hard to find the motivation and time though. I should really take lessons.

How do you even go about creating art? I don't know anything about it, really. I'm a very mathematical person, I'm a CS student in college
>>
>>63247433
That's a very cool way to build up to it. pc will be very climactic i assure you. Greed is one of my favourites, Heaven is very overlooked.
>>
>>63247433
Nice way of listening. I discovered them through To Be Kind as well, but the way I continued into their discography was scruffy and could've been a lot better to show their development.
>>
>>63246811
i was going to go to bed but decided to fap. so i fapped and have been sitting here reading /mu/, listening to music, with a damp cummy wad of tissue crumpled on my dick for the last hour and a half.

typing that just made me reevaluate my life and be a better person and i think i'm going to enter the priesthood. gonna sleep on it though. night everyone.
>>
>>63247447
>You are a person of strong and decent feelings, if life would give these feelings to you then it would want you to satisfy them with someone.

:-) that makes me feel really good family. thank you.
>>
>>63247275

its simply a movement in the arts, architecture, etc which stresses that absolute truth is a falsity, and human understanding of truth is constructed by our individual perspectives / experiences, and the language by which we refer to those truths.

>>63247357 postmodernism doesn't try to "negate" the definition of anything, instead it questions values assigned on the presumption of 'truth.'

but tbf >>63247237 including the term in his post didn't make much sense to me either, and it's only midnight where i'm at so who knows what he meant
>>
>>63247447
But justice is not real. I love like no one has loved another one in hundreds of years, yet I am here, alone.

>>63247448
I started with writing. Then I had a really strong interest in music, but I could never learn what I wanted to play, so I dropped it (they didn't let me play trumpet), then I discovered art film and theatre. Casually, I found /mu/ and look on a /prod/ thread. I started composing like crazy. I wouldn't know how to describe my creative process, but I'm a very mathy person too; I studied Applied Math and Molecular Biology, so there is that.
>>
>>63247461
excited to hear it :)

>>63247471
Nowadays whenever I'm recced and artist, if they have a long, consistent discog on rym (6+ albums at 3.0+) then I usually try to listen to them chronologically.

I started doing that after, on a "how to get into beatles" thread, I saw someone say that they listened to every single beatles album chronologically, and that ending it all with the abbey road medley was one of the best experiences of his life. I bet it was. And in the end.. the love you take.. is equal to... the love, you make.

I realized how cool that was and so I started doing it.
>>
>>63247497
definitions of postmodernism vary greatly among authors. I guess that under both definitions it would be silly to define posmodernism haha
>>
>>63247501
Maybe I'll start looking at some /prod/ threads and try my hand at composing. Thanks for the advice :)
>>
>>63247512

>definitions of postmodernism vary greatly among authors

im not sure they do? do you mean that postmodernism will have different meanings depending on the context of the discussion (e.g. diff meanings in art, architecture, music, etc)?
>>
>>63247529
You're welcome, friend.
I like being nice to other music lovers :D
>>
>>63247541
it sure is a nice break from aldeanposters
>>
>>63247540
Not quite; postmodernism is very difficult to define, so every definition lacks something. So yeah, the definition will morph depending on the context.
>>
>>63247541
Is music theory knowledge required to get into production?
>>
>>63247551

what does my definition in >>63247497 lack
>>
>>63247560
I had little to none, to be quite honest. It sure comes in handy, but, with tools like Guitar Pro, MuseScore and even Chordify, it's really easy to start making music. You'll get better with practice of course.

>>63247566
There is no assumed "truth" for art. At least, there has not been since classical times. There are absolute truths, like gravity in architecture. And, well, postmodernism has also reached sciences and philosophy, just saying.
Don't take it, like, personal, it's just a value of postmodernism.

Went to a show last night, got some espresso afterwards. Feeling inspired so I've been reading /gg/ links and listening to music; pic related.

>>63247604
not him, but truth is to be understood as the intrinsically assumed meaning of a particular piece of composition as early schools of critical thought were very concerned with "core meaning". eg, we immediately recognize a walmart as itself, but what really make us form the association is a collection of branding, ideologies, commercial media, and news narratives.
>>
>>63247708
Hmm... you're right
>>
>>63247511
Of course Abbey Road really ends with "Her Majesty", which I really like. I guess what I love about it is the fact that this magnum opus of one of the best bands of all time (inb4 scaruffi pasta) ends with what sounds like a joke.
