I think people have a better connection to music when they own a physical copy. I don't think the CD is the last of the physical formats.

I think, if there was a new format where when you purchased it, and it transferred to your digital player immediately, but, you also got a small card that also had the music for a player or download again with album artwork on... people would go for it.
If there was a format that crossed digital and physical, like chip and pin, brush the card on your device, it's on there
