Their third and first albums are my favorite honestly, one of their side projects TRAM, is also extremely good.
I don't know what to call that genre of music really but it's just so self-indulgent. The only instrumental metal act I've really liked is Cloudkicker. The rest of that stuff just gets so unbearable after a while

Weightless is their best work, but yeah the style of music didn't date well and i kind of find myself listening through a whole album and finding 3-4 really interesting riffs//sections with garbage in between, then on the re-listen finding other sections interesting as my taste evolves etc. a really annoying experience actually.

I actually think Weightless is their worst (too cold, not Jazzy enough), but their debut is actually a Progressive Metal classic. This one is up their for me because of the Jazzy melodies and some of their more aggressive moments. People on here will tell you Djent is bad (most of it can be discarded) but if you truly understand and enjoy polyrhythms then there are at lest 7 or 8 records you can enjoy. Don't be a drone, just like what you like. Half of these c.ucks don't even read music. Remember that.
