Dion and the Belmonts was my starter. It's very different than any other starter for every other genre of music.
Like, for rock you can start with Van Halen r Kiss. Country, Johnny Cash. Folk, John Denver and Simon and Garfunkel. Psych Rock Jefferson Airplane and Pink Floyd.
But with doo wop its kinda odd since it was a short period it was around. I'd say Dion and the Belmonts or Bobby Darin.
