He's not wrong though

Yes, very much so and I'm grateful for it. My dad was into prog rock and was a musician back in the day and thanks to him I was able to developer a good musical taste.

I still like listening to all the stuff mum used to listen to while we were driving around and what not and you're a damn liar if you say you don't too.

IT AINT ME
my dad got me into jazz and classical rock. but the dad can't into the 21st century.
>>63063668
My dad's into a lot of typical dadrock which kinda got me started, but I ended up liking a lot more of my mom's favorites (R.E.M., the Cure, Talking Heads) as I've gotten older. My parents are both huge Zappa fans as well so that's neat
i dislike any stereotypical 70s/80s pop because of my stepdad
>>63063668
a little. My mom doesn't have a taste in music but my dad has thankfully kept up consistently with relevant music. no dad rock for meee
My father used to try to get me to listen to the cure growing up
Hated it
I now love the cure
Kind of, but not really. I think I've taken a liking to my dad's taste in music than my mom's, because he likes Brian Eno, Nick Drake, Can, and the like, but I discovered many of the artists my dad likes by myself. I did introduce him to Radiohead, Yo La Tengo, and a bunch of newer artists, and we kind of bond over that

Dad liked country and Mom liked opera, so ... no. Not at all.

Augustus Gloop did nothing wrong
>>63063668
the taste of your moms pussy affected me
My parents and I recently have gotten a similar taste in music, but they didn't influence it.

More my father than my mother. He got me into Steely Dan at a very young age, and I've more or less trusted his taste ever since.
My dad is a conservatory professor specialised in modern jazz, medieval music and avant garde in general. He forced me to attend gregorian chant-singing monks concerts when I was 5. He created a real passion for music with me though
My mom, maybe. The Grateful Dead were basically the soundtrack to the first five or so years of my life, and I later got way into Neil Young in high school, probably partially due to my mom. As for my dad, his view seems to be that music is either Bach or Twisted Sister. He apparently thinks Bach is the best thing on earth, but I'm not sure if he actually likes Bach or likes feeling smart. I personally think Bach is some of the most emotionless music there is.
My mom was into good new wave when she was younger and I'm into a lot of bands that cite her favorites as influence. My dad listened to disco and I listen to a lot of french house and stuff like that, so they definitely influenced me a little.
>posting an edgy unfunny meme from fucking TUMBLR
oh 4ailchan, how cucked you are
oh and my parents exposed me to mostly soul music growing up
My dad was a dead head and now I'm a dead head

Yeah. My dad was in a psychobilly band and had a record label, my mom was an rnb dj. So i grew up listening to a lot of their old records.

Yeah, one of the things my dad was into when he was younger was new wave and a bit of some other electronic music like Kraftwerk. He still enjoys all those now.
