>not liking groovy bass heavy pop and lyrics that speak to your miserable teenage soul sung by the voice of an angel
Nothing to see here, move along.
wow great thread lets hope it gets 300 replies here's one
To be rather honest sibling, I thought so as well. But listen more, and more closely, and in the right settings and possibly with some random girl that really digs it. For any of those reasons, I kind of like it by now. I even sing some songs randomly and then I put it on and before the song is over I switch it off again because it's good but not that good?

Well, then it's even more natural for you to get into the smith. If only for you to wear that vintage shirt with pride so people can say
> he's not shy he just hates the world
> he's into the Smith and stuff you know
I think it's really nice
I like their self titled the most

>Morrissey absolutely BTFO Geoff Travis by calling him a bad poet and saying he hates their deal with Rough Trade on Frankly, Mr Shankly
>Travis thinks it's a joke and tries to write a reply as if he can even banter on Morrissey's level
there's levels to this, Geoff
I guess I'll contribute
>>62974164
Sorry you didn't like it. Hope you come around on it, otherwise, I've gotta believe that you're missing out. Though I love it now, it didn't click for me on first listen either.
>>62974164
I completely agree.
>>62978381
Can you repeat all of that, but in english?
>>62979122
Yes. 'Frankly Mr. Shankly' was a thinly veiled insult to the head of Rough Trade, Geoff Travis. Travis wrote a jokey song to get him back (I think, might have been a poem). It's just always cringed me out that he did that.
Honestly my favorite Smiths record. Maybe you're not a very big post-punk guy.
This ones my favorite smiths record
