Not true AT ALL and a common misconception. Odds of getting laid when going out alone increase ten-fold. You don't have friends nearby that you have to hover around or interact with, which gives freedom to do as you please and go as you please. It also forces you to go and be outgoing and actually interact with strangers, as you don't have anyone else to interact with.
It might be something you have to pull off though. Don't look all sad by yourself, just go sit at the bar and have some drinks or some shit. Someone is bound to walk up to you and ask if you are alone, and then proceed to tell you how that is kinda cool. Some stranger was once my wingman, met him 5 minutes after I entered the club. Ordered beer, he saw me walk in alone. He's like "Hey man whats up, why are you alone?". Turns out he was also alone so we went ahead and picked up some girls by pretending we were foreign and pulling off speaking a different language. Took them home that night.

I more regularly go to small local shows than go clubbing.
Have some time in between sets to talk to people, chances for the music to be less shitty, and less of a competitive/hostile atmosphere for finding Qts.
The only downside is people are more likely to be going with friends they know so it's less likely you will meet some new friends or some Qts.

Yeah, I was in college and I remember my buddy ditching me for a hot chick on the same night a fire alarm went off, it was downpouring outside, and the police showed up to take down a few guys who came in with weapons. I was pretty pissed. He drove and ended up peacing with the girl so they could have sex, and I got left with some other friends standing in the rain waiting for this shit to all end. Even the girls we were talking to ran off once the alarm was pulled, and I ended up empty handed. It was fucking awful timing and the last time I went to a club.
