People give it crap based on unreasonable expectations and behind the scenes shenanigans. In and of itself it's a "so okay it's average" album.
Oasis have always been bound to the most obvious rock n' roll cliches. The brash, fiery debut album followed up by a slightly more subdued and colorful one, the drug excess, the increasingly desperate attempts to stay relevant after their heyday, the infighting, the lineup changes, the "back-to-basics" albums, the angry break-up, the variedly successful solo projects, etc. It's all a story that's played out a thousand times before and a reunion is just part of that story, so I have no doubt that it'll happen eventually. Unless Liam or Noel gets shot or hit by a car or something.

I would honestly kill for a movie biopic that followed the history of the Gallaghers starting in the late 80s to the bands' formation through the time when Bonehead and Guigsy quit the band and Creation records dissolved in 1999.
There would be so many insane stories from that era and would be an interesting depiction of the band's insane rise to fame and then fall from grace and near-collapse before returning as "Fauxasis" in the 2000s for the last 10 years of the bands existance (ie. when they were super washed up and cycled a bunch of members through the band)
