VSnares and Autechre m pei sure have wildly different methods. I say this because their drums have nothing in common, other than complexity, which isn't even that common for Autechre any more.

In my experience the new fun thing in the normie underground is super technical neurofunk. Some of the songs are okay nuts, is be cool if there was an artist with that aesthetic making longer pieces that aren't so rigidly set to a club template.

The fact that you think Aphex and Squarepusher are comparable in quality means you aren't appreciating IDM properly, and are just caught up in the gay chaotic drums. IDM is more than that, it's not just drum N bass with more clicks and beeps and since dreamy ambience.
