I've seen many of my "friends" there to be banned or have different names because of new accounts, always wondered what was the issue. But yeah, feels like mods are a but too strict there, specially with the no avatar policy for the forums, which is the main reason I don't lurk them at all (hard to follow who talks when). I hope that gets fixed with Sonemic.
Still, it's probably the best site to catalog and organize music, so it's unlikely I'll ever want to leave there.
