He's a great producer, and even though he's a below-average rapper his charisma makes up for it.
He's also a lot more relatable than most other rappers, on College Dropout and Late Reg especially. Even recently as he's rapping more about fashion and crazy shit he still seems more genuine than other pop stars of that level. He says a lot of stupid shit, but it's refreshing because he's honest and he doesn't have the manufactured image of someone like Taylor Swift.
