the scene here is quite lean and scattered, compared to the UK or Germany where there is enough activity for a lot of different musicals movement to develop, and that even outside of the big, internationally recognized cities.
if Germany was like France, first there would be no berghain. the only nights happening regularly would be generic techno/house ones. the beer (and life in general) would cost three times its price, and there would be close to no nightlife outside of Berlin and say, Munich - i don't really know what the next big city is... boy i am looking forward to the day i'll leave.

i had a 1000 and i can say that unless you're invested in the hardware and the experience of using it, it is near useless. it's not user friendly, the 1000 has so little memory that you can't use every single feature available to you, they change depending on the operating system you have installed on the machine. can't speak for any of the newer models but i just found it easier to use software to achieve what i wanted.
