This song's groove has almost become a running joke within my friendship circle, involving is breaking into it or referencing it as many times as we physically can. Because it’s just so insane. I don’t understand how a groove can be that weird, yet that catchy. It’s simultaneously insanely mathematical and weird, but easy as anything to remember. Meshuggah wish they could write grooves this good. Everything - the skip beat, the repetition, the triplet transition, the chords that accompany it, is so absolutely perfect that it upstages the rest of an otherwise excellent song. No matter how good that chorus is (and it is good, although a bit simple), it will never be as good as that triplet transition. Or the first vocal intro in the first verse.

so hideous got totally shit on on RYM but i don't outright hate it, but it managed to be both cheesy and boring which is kind of amazing. it never does anything technically bad or awful but never went about a 6/10
i am loving Adore Life though, scratching that moody low-tempo bluesy part of post-punk that most of these shitty post-punk revival bands don't ever go for, the singer is good which helps

Been busy with classes, haven't listened to much metal in a while since apparently every time I get into metal I get in this enthusiast mindset where I'm actively having some sort of self dialectic about the music I'm listening to, scavenging for new artists and stuff like that; I get too invested in music in general is what I'm trying to say, and I don't have much time for that right now.
