That said, if you take things like the 2nd movement of Beethoven's 9th, to give you a well known example, you see it is far from simplistic, especially when you realise that there's no mixing to be done to add layers.

The elitism is to be expected on an anonymous website. The scope of discussion on /mu/ can get pretty big but you have to work for specific genre discussion and also have to factor prominence with consistency, i.e. dont expect a meaningful discussion on Daft Punk 2 days after a big event involving them due to shitposting in full effect, but also dont expect a good discussion if yesterday you had a good thread already.
TL;DR start threads once in awhile instead of just lurking.
