Hi /noise/
Still working on my submission to the noise comp what do you think of it?

https://clyp.it/lbzmyh0i
>>
>>61886180
Dunno, I mostly dress colorful and simple. You might want to look more about how noise guys keep their hair. It is always either buzz cut or really long "metal" hair(mine is some kind of variation on pixie style with long as fuck bang growing from the one side)

Anonymous 01/18/16(Mon)14:13:01 No.61827272 ▶
sounds like aimless fucking about to me, the sort of which bandcamp and soundcloud are overflowing with
it leaves no impression whatsoever, sounding like an approximation of noise made by someone who's got no real connection to it and no understanding of noise's potential for conceptual and emotional depth and refinement, not even any understanding of the most immediately recognizable and blatant element of visceral and/or cathartic experiences noise can provide

what is the purpose of this recording? what is it meant to convey and communicate? why have you decided to use these specific sonic elements and sounds? how long did it take you to make this?

it's just there
the only thing that can be said about it is that it exists

do you even listen to noise?
>>
>>61885757
>>61885787
I found several ones on slsk but they've all been "shitty rips" (it even said so in the comment-tag)
>>
>>61886499

>>
>>61886180
>Is there a stereotyped way noise folks dress?

i haven't noticed one
i guess noise not having any concrete subculture built up around it or any unavoidable and strictly defined way of getting into it(people get into it from all sorts of backgrounds, some of them not even having to do with music: techno, general left-field electronic music, black and death metal, jazz, industrial, wire magazine-type art music, hardcore punk, various visual/performance art movements, certain strains of authors and literature etc.) results in it having no one dictated way of how a person involved with it is supposed to look or think

If you twiddle a knob on a tapedeck it makes the tape sound gooder

Oh wow I didn't know any of this. Super cool, thanks!
>>
>>61887940
Yeah it's very useful information to have for cassette ripping, usually fiddling about with the azimuth can really improve the output sound

reply with what you are listening to right now and a brief review.
this is one of the most electrifying oise albums I have come across, the pulsing rhythm of the heart completely penetrates your mind.
>>
>>61887981
I've been getting into recording my music onto tape lately, so when I do the playback for digitisation I wanna do the opposite and see if that improves the final recording.

Eric Holm - Andoya
this is my favorite rhythmic noise album and it's up there in my hypothetical list of favorite albums of any genre. I love how it's a little less dance-oriented than other rhythmic noise artists without sacrificing the driving intensity that a rhythm based sound can provide. I also have a deep love for anything that uses field recordings of things humans can't normally hear (Aube is my favorite noise artist partially for this reason). I also really love the cold, alienating atmosphere that it builds. often when field recordings are processed into unrecognizability they also loose the emotive character of their source but I think Holm managed to maintain the feeling of a really desolate landscape very well.

it's real strong, would have been the strongest whitehouse album were it not for sotos having left the band at that point, so no spoken word collages(which i know a lot of people hate but personally always found to really tie the albums which featured them together)
