So, anyway, some /IDM/ meta here
What do you think of the new OP post? What would you change? I think it might attract some more people.
I gave myself a trip for this. If I'm not around and someone wants to make a new /IDM/ thread, they're welcome to.
I want to add an album to the OP that would serve as an introductory album for someone who wants to try the genre. I'm thinking Tri Repetae, SAW 85-92 or Amber.
I know there are people who know a lot more about IDM than me (I made the first /IDM/ trying to find new music, and it worked), so I want your suggestions.
bump for idiot dumb music

Intricate Dance Music is nearly as bad as Intelligent Dance Music. I like Braindance. It's basically the same thing, but at least it's a bit tongue in cheek
bump for intestinal dysbiosis music
>>61880828
Man this is real good
>>61881063
I don't know, Braindance is so much more sparsely used than IDM
Maybe I should just leave it at IDM
>/IDM/ - IDM General
Or just
>IDM
>>61881177
yeah, just leave it at idm imo. honestly that's what i call it - i just pretend that the acronym doesn't stand for anything.
if people don't know what "idm" is or encompasses then they prob shouldn't even be posting in the thread anyway.

sdm 4 lyfe
aaron used the sdm one take jam method for his upcoming record- though it's mostly on his beastly modular

This sounds good. Every IDM thread turned into a shitstorm of what the genre should be called or what it meant.

NEW AUTECHRE WHEN???
Btw I finally got into Quaristice, damn that album is groovy once the second half kicks in. Everything before Parallel Suns is too tedious for me right now.

I'm not a big fan of the IO/plyPhon/Perlence triumvirate either but i don't see how you can't like Altibzz or Simmm or The Plc

Disgusting. Why would you call it that
It's called Electronic Braindance Music, EBM
>>61881782
EBM is already a thing tho, could be confusing

IDM = Introverted Drug Music
bump for incredibly dull music
why are all idm producers so ugly?

Probably not quite what you're looking for but Cursor Minor is a fantastic blend of synthpop/new wave and IDM. Some mags described him as Gary Numan meets Aphex Twin back in the day.

Vsnares is putting out an all analogue album.

>>61884244
This sounds like his best stuff in years desu
>>61884670
Definitely, I didn't think that he'd ever get back to actually making good shit instead of shitting out Filth clones and joke albums for the rest of his career but this looks like he's found what he needs in modular synth noodling and it's great.
This is a good idm album
>>61886185
that's drum and bass tho
>>61886239
Yeah but it's actually good so I'm calling it idm
>>61887004

if you want to tie bowie to idm there's an aphex twin remix of the philip glass symphony version of "heroes"
