I first listened to screamo when i moved out for college... I was only into black metal back then and one day i came across a cover that i found appealing and it blew my mind... Suddenly, the world and specially my feelings became more serious. No more trolls in caves, only lonely walks in the rural suburbs while contemplating the poetry in melancholy and realising that i was becoming an adult.

This was the fisrt screamo\emo song i've herad:

I've been hearing this for years but never got a concrete answer, it may just be word of mouth from the band themselves from back then. It would kinda make sense since the other bands from the Marburger brothers never quite delved into that angsty crude territory.

there are some screamo bands from mexico floating around, emo I haven't seen really. From what you mentioned I only know of Invalido and I don't like them.

Mexico released a masterpiece though, it's one of my favorite emo/screamo records of all time. It's like if Fall of Efrafa jacked emo instead of neocrust

search for Arcadhianonstabian - Del Olvido Al No Me Acuerdo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CY9WCsFlkbs

I'm assuming you're mexican so you will probably like the lyrics, the album is plastered with some open word samples of this old mexican guy talking about life/death and mourning for the death of his mother, it sounds almost like a concept album in that sense.

A mexican screamo band I like is Carlton Banks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TP-Y6XLZKDc

there are some more modern bands that I can't think of of the top of my head, I haven't kept up with the genre in a while. One of them is Per Se

>blaming the death of a general on pictures
Most of the people claiming to hate weebs were excusing that for their lack of content since a lot of anti weeb threads were "The new foxing, the new TWIABP, the list goes on" for a whole month, the genre itself is slow nowadays.

>>61874042
>Arcadhianonstabian
Holy shit that hooked me real quick, the life/death samples come from a specific source?
Going to download that one but can't find it in anything but 192kbps, where do you got it from?
Carlton Banks and per sé are p cool too. Thanks senpai.
Also Walle is a band from TJ, they kinda caught my attention from their world cup/football titles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C59aLSFiwbc
They went way more ambient in their later releases and i think they deepened in irony as well, at least their song titles show that a bit.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xum3tlcnw6k
And with NSM i meant no somos marineros, pretty sure you know em too but idk if you actually liked their last LP.
Again thanks a lot emotive.

I was thinking about this in the shower the other day: When a musical style/subculture is born, there is a period marked by a shared inspiration and creativity of the best quality that usually lasts about 4 years. After that, you'll still have some good artists or albums--even genre defining ones, but they'll start to come less and less often until there's the revival of the revival and it's barely a trickle of creativity.

Jazz Fusion had 69-73
Krautrock had 71-75
Post-punk had 77-81
Posi-core was about 87-91
IDM was probably somehwere in the late 90's-early 00's

After the last year, most of those genres just got stale.

Emo had a good run from 94-98. There were a lot of great bands and many styles explored. But look into the future. How many people here are posting about kraut or fusion records from 1980? No one! Because the vast majority of those records were fucking awful.

It's time to move on. Draw inspiration from great emo and turn it into something completely different before it becomes even more of a mockery than it already is.

Here's a classic and another great band carrying the torch.

>the life/death samples come from a specific source?

I don't even know if they are sampled really, it might just be some open word from the vocalist himself. I only have a 192kb rip too, pretty sure it's all your're gonna find.
>>
>>61874482
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
When you combine a music mostly characterized by its intensity, emotional honesty and fragility with silly pictures of cartoon fantasy little japanese girls, it demeans the music and I can't take the music or what you say at all seriously.

I enjoy parody and irony, but what I like about emo is its sincerity and you're just making an ugly mockery of that which you claim to enjoy.

>>61874536
>emo revival is not dead you s e n p a i
I'm not saying that the genre itself is dead, but the good releases, as if in any genre, come once or twice a year, hence, slow.
>>61874577
I liked the Dikembe input but i really don't like Turnover, Hyperview and that Citizen album.
Also don't want to be a dick but i don't feel that new Sorority noise as essential. Other than that you're cool. Also, i know i've been shilling them a lot but the new Everyone asked about you LP has to be there since it came in 2012.

Sorority Noise was essential, to me at least, because it's the best portrayal of depression I've ever heard. It seriously described my life to a T.

You're welcome, again i posted somewhere in 2015 why i didn't liked the Turnover album, maybe i was expecting something different.
The citizen really disappointed me and there's a bunch that is around 6/10 in that list to me, like that Spranyard album.
Also i noticed that you didn't included anything from The Brave Little Abacus, why?
>>
>>61875161
They can't all be winners; there's some albums on there that I don't like myself but I intended this as a catch all guide. Perhaps I should add subgenres/influences as well (Kinsellacore, post hardcore, pop punk, etc).

I can't stand them. People on leddit told me to add them too. I guess I can add them considering I added TWIABP - a band I despise with every molecule of my body. So I'll think about it.
