Last SC-thread is dead and almost full.

Following the great example from a couple of days ago:

Why do you make music?
How long have you been doing it?
Name your five biggest inspirations.

>Why do you make music?
It's a lot of fun. It's also quite interesting, as a fan of music, to test your own abilities and get an idea for how your favorite music was made.

>Why do you make music?
I've been wanting to make an album out of samples for quite a while, they've always been incredibly intriguing to me. I sample grunge and such specifically because I grew up with it and have a lot of CDs with that sound laying around. Some I still listen to, but some I no longer enjoy as much as I did when I was little, so why let them go to waste when you can make them into something new?

>How long have you been doing it?
I honestly can't even recall, but I've been working on my album since May of 2014

>Name your five biggest inspirations.
Daft Punk's Discovery is what got me interested in sampling, Swans' Soundtracks For The Blind is one of the most adventurous albums I've ever heard, everything Daniel Lopatin does is pure magic, Basement Jaxx's wackiness is lovely to me, and I like how The Field is able to take small bits of pop songs and stretch them out into 8 minute trance tracks.

OP here. Your music is crazy, and I can definitely read in some of those influences in your music.
The Field is fucking excellent, yes. He manages to keep his music extremely simple/stripped down, yet so engaging.

I make music because it really satisfies the artistic element of my life. To give a non-pretentious answer: I really like it and get excited about making music.

I've been playing music for 7 years or so now.

Five biggest inspirations right now are probably:

>Godflesh
>Wolf Eyes
>Esplendor Geometrico (been on a rhythmic noise kick)

Nothing can beat the mutual feeling of understanding when playing a song or when jamming - when everybody knows exactly what they're doing and what they have to do, like machine components in a machine, to make it work you have to be perfectly synchronised.

1., I make music because I am in love with the concept of recording, mixing and mastering my music, making my own music gives me a giddy happy feeling that I'm actually *creating* and doing something that matters (at least to me) and that pleases me.

2., I've been making music since early 2011, most of my older work is out of print and no longer readily available, however, if you happen to like my music, just message me on Soundcloud and I'll be more than happy to send you a Mediafire link to a few albums I've recorded in the past.

3., My five biggest influences are Casiotone For The Painfully Alone, Daniel Johnston, III by Sebadoh, Mac DeMarco and Ween.

>1. Explain why you make music.

Because chiptune gives me a magic feeling of wonder and enthusiasm that I can barely put into words. It's like a wonderful feeling of waking up in the year 2200 to an utopic digital world. Hell, I don't know how to describe. Chiptune gives me an amazing feeling.

>2. State how long you've been making music.

Since 2010.

>3. List your 5 biggest influences, musical or otherwise.

Early Slime Girls and early Anamanaguchi, with a chiptune sound that is less free-form and more structured, similar to a punk rock song but in chiptune form.

Also WMD and Azuria have a way of making chill, relaxing chiptune that inspired me on how to make the smooth, chill part of my song.

Keen to your sound, like what you're doing. The first tack on your page isn't the best introduction to your project.

Hard to critique lo-fi for not having enough dynamics but, I don't think it would take away from your sound if you had more vocal variation or any amount of bass anywhere.

When people suggest something is missing from my music my reaction is usually along the lines of "seems like you don't get it".

Fine the way things are, could benefit from dynamic variations, but that's really for you to say.

Also, boys make me weak so

beats are fine

your flow is unoriginal and youre trying to do too much. try to play off of the music more instead of trying to fit in as many words as possible into one bar. simplify your flows, especially in the parts where we can't understand what you're saying.

I make music because I like to play pianos that make different sounds, but getting better would be a treat as well.

And I've been making music since like highschool, I actually had a band with the same name but in English a few years ago but eh. My music is still up for that band @ banana rush soundcloud

And honestly my biggest inspirations have been Mac Demarco and just old classical music.

OATH OF KINGS!!!
http://soundcloud.com/oath-of-kings/voices
Hey guys! Check out our YT as well. Feel free to give us a like.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjhd_z2Nl5w

Lyrics:

We have worked our way to the top,
And we have never,
Felt so alive,
This just gets better,
Time we make a stand,
Time we do things different,
In the end we'll show them all,
We'll show them all.

Let your voices be heard,
So the world can notice,
These mountains we've climbed,
Just to reach the surface.

Who would have thought it?
We could do this on our own,
Time is precious,
So we'll make this last,
We are the future,
Together we'll fight for this,

Bitch,
You think it's over?
You think you've won?
The games have just begun.

Let your voices be heard,
So the world can notice,
These mountains we've climbed,
Just to reach the surface.

You need to let this go,
You need to let this go,
I need to let this go,
I need to let this go.
