I kind of started with the Bad Plus, they're modern enough to be a good crossover, and they're cool jazz as well. Then I went into Vince Guaraldi Trio (I was very young) because it reminded me of Charlie Brown, and then from there I got into Dave Brubeck, Thelonious Monk, etc.
