Most prog/concept albums, since they tell a story.

Nothing. No album, movie, or book has ever fucking had the climax in the direct middle and then half of it was just the ending. Fuck you, and fuck my 5th grade teacher for showing me this same chart.
>>61592069
Channel Orange, although "climax in the middle" is sort of weird
>>61592256
The climax is the Swimming Pools/Sing About Me transition, which is closer to the end
All 3 of his albums climax near the end
>>61592260
>thinking this chart means the climax has to happen in the literal middle of the story/album
wew lad
>>61592571
Why wasn't I to assume that? That's what the chart indicates. I had assumed that we were supposed to come up with albums that followed this specific form as OPPOSED to having the climax close to the end, which is more or less expected
I want this "album" meme to end.
>>61592824
Ok done
>>61592231
this
it's climax is almost exactly in the middle of the album

>>61592069
Having the climax right in the middle of something is a very bad idea.

MBDTF
>>61592824
There is nothing wrong with one, insisting that certain LP's are meant to be listened to as a whole, and two, spanking people with "muh short attention span can't into more than 10 minutes of music".
>memeing musical philosophies that hold validity in many contexts
You are a meme. Fuck off.

I think the way we think of albums should be radically redefined
the perfect length for a chunk of music is probably 20 - 35 minutes
beyond that, instead of recording entire albums, most artists should limit themselves to only a few of their best tracks, which are then compiled alongside other fitting tracks.
who's with me?
>>61592824
Any version of Smile, disregarding Smiley Smile, is a perfect way to define albums as a cohesive statement, with movements and recurring themes.
>>61592824
I want you to end
>>61599117
Depends so much of the genre
I agree on the fact that a shit ton of artists are releasing too long albums, much masterpieces are quite short.

>>61592824

When the brass section in For Emma enters it's about 7-8 minutes before the end of a 37 minute long album, I think this one counts
>>61599117
fuck you, some of my favorite albums and/or compositions are 2h+ long
