There is a huge world of music out there that is never mentioned on /mu/ nor is it normie-core and you'll never hear it.

Yeah. I'm amazed how rarely progressive jazz, new age shit, and no-wave that isn't Swans gets mentioned here.
I love /mu/'s generally taste, but we're kind of myopic.
I feel lonely when I listen to really obscure music from years ago that no one ever cared about. I feel like when I listen to something I'm connecting with the other listeners as well as the artist. I think there has always been a community aspect to music and without that you're missing something, even in the internet age.

This is true but I also really like the feeling of enjoying abandoned/very obscure music. It's like the connection with the artist is stronger, because they shared that art with fewer people

this

I love the feeling of connecting to old obscure music emotionally, the music feels more personal to myself, but I always feel removed from the artist. Like, they have moved on and I'm just listening to a ghost of them that no longer exists. I know that the Beatles are half dead and changed as people, but they still very much feel "alive" when I listen to them because culturally they still are. I don't know if this makes any sense at all or if I'm just talking out my ass.

basically if you listen to top 40 you're a music cuck
Am I a /mu/ drone or a normie?
