It's good, but cultural context really carries it.
It really stands out against the background of generic ringtone trap. A bold, funk-infused, introspective, politically charged album from one of the biggest rap artists in the world. All during a time where "Black Lives Matter" and race relations are reaching a boiling point.

Personally I don't think it's as great as people say on a purely musical level. I think it tries to be a jack of all trades in what is considered "black" and it doesn't do any part apart from the pure hip-hop really well. There are some incredibly strong songs on the album but as a whole I find it kinda reaching for something great and not quite catching it.
