Bollocks. St. Vincent's music has a lot of hooks, she's good looking, and she's very relevant to today's music scene (almost anything she does is newsworthy, her albums feature on almost every list, she's very listened and discussed).
As for history it's too soon to judge that, but looking at the critical acclaim of her work I assume that her place is assured. Now let's hope that the rumors of her collaborating with Brian Eno are true.
