Masturbation is a sin. That is my only guilty pleasure.
>>
ironically of course
>>
sometimes I go to the local shopping mall wearing a trench coat full of golf balls and drop them, one by one, in places just distant enough from the center of the aisles to make shoppers slip and fall on them. Usually they drop all of their bags in the process and occasionally break an expensive electronic device before they even get a chance to open it/turn it on.

blink-182 (all of the good pre-feely albums)

Because you're a conservative? I couldn't think of any other reason you'd like that but feel guilty about it.
>>
>>61410930
It's country

If that's why you feel guilty about it, then you know nothing about music and therefore have shit taste and can't possibly genuinely like that album
>>
>>61410917
Before all the emo bullshit, they were p good

Sometimes I feel guilty for liking stuff like Death In June, Boyd Rice, Genocide Organ, Con-Dom, etc.
Music with fascist or social darwinist themes interests me, but I hesitate to talk about it in mixed company.

I don't know about you but everything they did pre-Neighborhoods was fucking solid in my book.
>>
>>61410983
What are you on?
>>
>>61410965
Same
>>

This. Neighborhoods sounded like Angels and Airwaves which is awful

The lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock.

Edgy teenage connotations aside, I genuinely enjoy Linkin Park's stuff.
>>
Bruce Springsteen. I should dislike it. But I can't help myself.
>>
>>61412105
In what universe is Springsteen a guilty pleasure? Mellencamp maybe, Seger definitely, but Springsteen?

one of my fave albums but i havent listened in a year, /mu/ ruined it for me by bashing it so much :(
>>
>>61413192
What about Billy Joel? Both of my parents grew up in Long Island, so I can't help but enjoy his albums.
>>
>>61409946
This isn't necessarily a guilty pleasure considering it's really good.

I know it's terrible but I love it anyway
>>

Hellogoodbye is my jam too bro, I like all three of their albums though
>>
>>61413616
>anything but A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
>good

Pretty Odd is within the realm of guilty pleasure
>>
>Having guilty pleasures

anyway for the sake of the thread i'll say the new bieber album
>>
>>61413517
It's not music that pushes boundaries, I guess, but not a guilty pleasure. Not all music has to be "challenging." Billy Joel's perfectly good at what he does, even if it's conventional.
>>
>>61411034
I don't feel guilty for liking it, but I find it hard to take seriously because it's Slipknot-tier edginess
>>
J-pop and K-pop. I don't even listen to jerk off to the idols. I just find it catchy.
>>
>>61413667
(Different anon) Their new stuff is especially good, I didn't care for their debut. I love Everything Is Debatable and Would it Kill You?
>>
>>61413691
New Bieber is so catchy.
>>
>>61413779
Would it Kill You is what I wanted twee-pop to be tbqh, Everything is Debatable has really nice production too
>>
>>61413667
I agree that Would It Kill You was actually really great. It makes me sad to always see a million copies of it at record stores. Everything Is Debateable was alright too but IMO it felt just a bit too much like any other indie pop album. The first few tracks on that album are GOAT though
>>
>>61413887
EiD is definitely front-loaded, but the first half of that album is just perfect indie pop
>>
>>61412066
same even if i dont exactly identify with their content, its just a very easy, pleasant listen, also fueled by knowing every single note of it, p sure im not alone in that either

>>61413678
its quite a bit better than fever though, as far as i could tell. its not even a tiny bit "scene", not even pop punk in any way, theres no reason to be self-conscious about liking it (>implying there ever is a reason to be self-conscious about liking something) unless you generally look down on pop music, or their name
>>
>>61413932
But it's not.

Just because Pretty Odd wasn't pop-punk doesn't objectively make it better than one of the better. I like Pretty Odd but A Fever You Can't Sweat Out was their only album worth talking about
>>
>>61414539
might have been weird wording on my part, im not saying its better because its not pop punk, or that simply being pop punk is bad, but it seems that simply being (modern) pop punk is enough put an album in the "guilty pleasure" category
but tbqh ive not listened to a fever enough to confidently assert its superiority. i guess the hooks seem to be more consistently better, songs and melodies flow more smoothly, they worked with vocal harmonies more which is always cool, idk

>>
>>61409946
Same
Its just so fucking catchy
>>
In complete agreement OP.

One of my mates laughs at me when I say that I like Pretty. Odd. He says it sounds like they've just discovered Sgt. Pepper and are lazily emulating it.

But fuck him because it's catchy.
