this is a lie though, techno producers tend to change their sound over the years or have many aliases at once while producing diff. styles under each alias. Not to mention, if you don't evolve overtime you risk being called "stale", this happens in techno all the fucking time.
You are referring to places that have a specific aesthetic ie Berghain. Well ofc they will have a specific aesthetic that caters towards a specific crowd. Doesn't mean the producers who release on Ostgut Ton ONLY release Berghain core, most of them release on other labels and again, in a different style

Recording techniques have changed, the sound has changed, but fundamentally there is little difference between say, 3rd wave detroit and modern techno. There hasn't been anything "revolutionary" happening in techno, and that's why its such a successful genre, because its so simple and it doesn't have the risk of other genres like trance, where there were big changes in the scene, big and fast changes that made it sound outdated as fuck by the time it was dying.
Techno has been so successful and it's scene hasn't suffered from the bigs ups and down of say, house, because it is probably the most minimalistic music that isn't academia experiments, and as such, it doesn't need the huge changes needed in other genres to stay "relevant"

By the time of the 2nd wave of detroit producers, the sound of what today we call "techno" was a lot clearer
