How the fuck do I convince songfags that exclusively listening to full albums is the correct way to listen to music?
>>
>>61376170
Some genres don't release a lot of albums and some don't at all OP.
>>
But it isn't you dipshit.
>>
everyone has their own way of listening to music and that's ok

everything's going to be ok

kek. you realize listening to alubm is a corporate formula made as it was the ammount of music that could easily fit on a vinyl record. a medium that turned art into a consumer good.
>>
>>61377406
here's your reply
>>
>>61378460
yes, and the rock artists made the music KNOWING IT WAS GOING TO BE ON A FINITE LENGTH MEDIUM SO THEY FUCKING DESIGNED IT TO BE LISTENED AS AN ALBUM

First you must get them to actually be interested in music, rather than just wanting vapidly catchy sonic backdrops to perk up their shallow lives.

there are many concept albums in hip hop - if you're not listening to cLOUDDEAD or A Prince among Thieves as complete albums then you have no fucking idea what you're listening to and your opinions are irrelevant
>>
>>61378494
some did yes. but not most music?

i prefer not to listen to corporate capitalist formulas. even those that work within them are still catering to the rules of money making corporations.
>>
>>61378494
Loads of artists (especially popular crap) over the years released albums full of trash with 1 or 2 hits because that was just how music was released. Rolling Stones instantly springs to mind.
>>
>>61378765
True, but who means to include hip-hop when they say 'electronic'?

all classical and traditional musics. all experimental music made by untrained enthusiasts across the world

whether it's a concept album or not should be a subjective listener debate, it doesn't mean BoC have said "this album meant this message"

That said, the gist of it is in the album name
>>
>>61379023
Most classical composers made a career out of their work and took commissions. On top of that, you will generally be listening to a recording of that commission made by professional musicians and released by a record label.

You could always visit a non-profit library/archive and retrieve sheet music composed by an 18th-century amateur, then play it yourself. Then your edgy anti-capitalism will be intact.

Of course you would. That way you are not the only pleb with a short attention span listening to music incorrectly.

How the fuck do I convince recordingfags that being in the same acoustic space as a performer or ensemble is the correct way to listen to music?

Why is it that this point is never brought up when we are talking about rappers?

Stick firecrackers up your ass mane.
But seriously, music is your hobby, don't force that shit on other people. Most of them don't really care about what they listen to and that's fine. As long as they don't get snarky about your tastes, tolerating your friends' lack of interest in music is something you have to learn to live with.
>>
>>61378449
no, they're just as elitist, but they like to pretend they aren't.

at least here everybody knows we're elitist assholes so we're all on the same level
>>
>>61378460
>it was the ammount of music that could easily fit on a vinyl record
While you're right that the whole "collection of songs" thing is still used by some or even a lot of people a lot of musicians do consciously design an album as a whole. I don't know why this is so unbelievable.

And about the part I quoted, there are tons of albums going over this limit and even albums when vinyl was the only method of transmitting music that didn't stick to a single record's worth of space.

stupid rockist your music is shit too dumb /mu/fag

being a songfag you only listen to the best sound and feelings conveyed

i dont care about teenagers feelings and their shit albums

>>61378497

fuck off my musical knowledge is infinitely larger than yours

you are only interested in a couple artists and what those edgelords have to say, i am interested in actual music
>>
Lol you plebeians. I dowoad 64 kbps ris of albums, convert them to a travk and then give them to my neighbor. I have him play it through his kick ass a track player in his 82 mustang and call my phone so I can listen to it while I'm at work. I work at a telemarketing agency so they all actually think I'm working because I just make offers and say stuff like "if you enter a contract with us today I'll cut the premium by 5%" whenever a boring part of the song comes on.
>>
>>61376170
anyone who disagrees is basically a songfag.
The only way i've seen people change is from listening to an artist's discography
