I think about this a lot, I like a lot of experimental music and listen to a lot of trap music for fun. When I listen to some of the instrumentals and the way the rappers flow I think objectively that there are a lot of interesting sounds and textures to be heard in trap music. But I will admit a lot of it is recycled nonsense.

I actually feel this 10x

nope, it's the other way around. trap fans (especially on /mu/ and r/hiphopheads) are in serious denial that they're the latest form of hipsters

Oops! Looks like you made a mistake in your post op. Im sure what you really meant was this "Trap is normie music disguised as experimental music." Its all good though! We all make mistakes sometimes.
You can't prove a negative.

yeah, this.
though i'd add that trap doesn't have a higher proportion of derivative garbage than any other genre/subgenre, so-called experimental music included.
I think trap has a lot of potential to be artistically fulfilling, and for some reason

satisfies that for me.
