Do we have to pretend we care about him now?

Overkill, Bomber, and Another Perfect Day are the holy trinity of Motorhead in my opinion. Definitely a good place to start.
Everything from Kiss of Death to Bad Magic were fucking excellent as well.
Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spaces, Another Perfect Day, Overnight Sensation, Bastards, We Are Motorhead, Inferno, Kiss of Death and Motorizer.
Bad Magic was fucking fantastic, which is good, it would have been sad to see him leave on a trash record. If you want to you can skip Bastards and Overnight.
Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades to start, then move to anything else mentioned ITT.

I'll be honest, I thought Bastards sucked for the most part. Burner was the only stand out track for me.

No Sleep Til Hammersmith is objectively the only good and worthwhile Motörhead release.

I have yet to meet a person who is into loud guitar music and genuinely dislikes Motörhead. They were the closest thing to a rock in the music business. No matter how much the world changed, you could always count on Lemmy playing on stage, drinking heavily or recording another album. People took him for granted. And now he's gone.

No Remorse is a good starting point since it's a greatest hits album. The downside is, it was released in 1984, so you'll only be getting the early stuff, but if you like what you hear, it should encourage you to check out even more of their stuff. Many people will tell you the "Classic" years are from 79-82 with "Fast Eddie" Clarke, and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor (Who also just passed away very recently) but I encourage you to check out ALL their releases after Iron Fist.
