This album has great instrumentals and hooks but I don't like how explicit the lyrics can be at times. I'm okay with some killing, drug dealing, and sexing but he takes it a bit too far for me. Anyone got any recommendations for something that sounds similar but is a bit more clean?
holy fuck that's the ugliest thing i've ever seen

are both of you being serious

>he takes it too far
Considering the album is a satire of hip hop culture that's kind of the point.
Go listen to J Dilla or Nujabes if you want to relax.

It's supposed to be a satire
>>61337128
I think this might be what you're looking for

lmao, you can't seriously think that that's mainly what he's doing.
All mista thug isolation is, is an homage to memphis devil shyt made by someone who genuinely cares for that style of music.

It's not the main point but it's recurring and is the reason the lyrics are so ridiculous. I don't need your little primer on Memphis rap.
>>61337336
evidently you do
>>61337336
the lyrics are ridiculous out of "tradition" not out of critique, lum isn't trying to point out something as obvious as southern hip hop being vulgar
>>61337198
I want Nujabes or J Dilla with lyrics that aren't afraid to be dark, but doesn't take it as far as MTI.
his three sides mixtape is alot better

have you read clown.pdf?
>>61337491
not all of it
i skimmed it and couldn't really gleam anything from it
>>61337501
ugly mane loves misdirection and i think the 64 pages about how much he hates american society carries a little more weight than those two lines you posted
its a good album
dont know why you fucking nerds have to hyperanalyze everything or be offended by everything
>>61337518
he'd love for you to think that wouldn't he then
its not just those two lines though, the whole song essentially has that message
idk its hard for me to think of the same guy who made trick dice as someone who has an agenda against hip hop being overly ignorant or whatever the point of MTI being satire would be
