I agree with Brian saying that this is not musically conceptual album or lyrically conceptual album, but production-wise conceptual album. The innovations in production this album brought are huge and I will forever love it because of that.

Artists practice artifice all the time, everything they utter is not wholesomely truthful kek. Great album, yet not on the sole account of Wilson. Much more would need to be mentioned.

it's not really forgettable though. their early surf stuff made a gigantic impact on rock and roll at the time, and brian's songwriting influenced tons of artists outside of pet sounds.
