London Calling wasn't punk then, isn't punk now, and will NEVER, and I mean NEVER be punk!
People who think this was a punk album, or think that The Clash were a punk band until the end, or think The Clash changed the face of punk w/London Calling are a bunch of ignorant plebs who weren't even alive when London Calling came out. The punk rockers back then HATED this album, and turned their backs on The Clash forever after that. The Clash stopped being "Punk" after Give 'em Enough Rope, and even then, plenty of people thought they were a bunch of posers and band wagon jumpers.
