Colour of Spring is definitely an amazing pop album though with hints of what was to come. The live album too with all those reworkings of songs from It's My Life

Their first 2 albums have terrible tinny production tho, so just don't

you also clearly don't understand hollis' development or where SoE actually came from. it didn't just pop out of nowhere and a lot of the production on that album is rooted in the sound of CoS

I can understand dismissing their first 2 due to the terrible production sound but give CoS a proper listen

I wouldn't say the band is patrician but of their discography this album combines the quirks of their 'experimental' (goofy) OK Calculator with the more standard sound of Return To Cookie Mountain.
