ITT: Albums that serve as red flags to you so you know you should disregard all the opinions of the person who likes them.
I'll start with the obvious.
>>61288352
Yeah, TPaB's pretty good.
>>61288366

>>61288420
Yep, and I was just respectfully disagreeing and expressing how much I enjoy TPaB: A good album.
>>61288454
>degenerate

>>61288429
>implying rap is good

>>61288458
>A good album
It's a cultural meme and nothing more.
Speaking of cultural memes:
>>61288458
>TPaB: A good album.
but it's a bad album
ITT: we post well received albums that we hate personally.
>>61288352
You boo boo, you teed
>>61288475
>>61288483
I don't know what you're all talking about. It's the highest rated album on Metacritic. It's really popular. All of my friends and I listen to it every day.
You must have not got the social and political satire. Did you hear The Blacker the Berry? That was a really good song.
>>61288489
>well received albums that we hate personally.
If that's what you think:
>>61288352
>>61288420
>>61288434
>>61288475
are then you have garbage taste.
>>61288520
listen to The Coup
>>61288420
>>61288430
>>61288458
>5 days from 2016
>STILL doesn't get Grimes
You lot are truly sad
You sound like a tiresome person to know OP
>>61288483
>bad album
but it's a good album
>>61289278
What? I never said I didn't get Grimes. I love Art Angels!
I know this is like a /mu/ running theme but do any of you really like dismantle your support system / friend group over this shit
>>61288352
>>61288366
>>61288420
Same.
>>61288367
poor taste in ambient
>>61289639
plebeian
>>61289622
(it's all a meme)
vu and nico
>>61289622
>having a support system
I hope I'm not too late!!!!
>>61289939
pfft
>>61288472
This is actually a good red flag album
If someone tells me it's a good album worth listening to I agree
When someone says it's GOAT and should be worshiped?
That's just another pedantic faggot trying to establish cred by liking something a little underground
Truth is that album is about as good as Gish, which means a good rock album from that period but liking it isn't a diploma or entry to a club for savants
I hope I'm not too late!!!
>>61289949
if you ever posted a "le bait!!" pic you're everything wrong with /mu/
I hope I'm not too late!!
I hope I'm not too late!!!!!!
>>61290066
I can actually agree with that. Most people who post those pictures are very new to 4chan and/or have awful music taste
I hope I'm not too late!!!!!!!
>>61290066
this
I hope I'm not too late!
I hope I'm not too late!!!!!!!!!!!
>>61290070
What a great album. I'm glad we can all agree that Fluttershy is best pony.
>>61289669
hey..
Any Death Grips album, desu senpai.
Anyone who likes that music that isn't as openly angry and fucked up as the people that made are just pretending to like it for cred
>>61290165
Like you would even know shit about rock.
King Crimson is the best.
You're supposed to post a horrible album, like pic related.
ITT: pitchforkcore and /mu/core
Pic related is an album that truly sucks.
>>61290249
Death Grips actually seem like really nice dudes honestly
>>61290249
>Anyone who likes that music that isn't as openly angry and fucked up as the people that made are just pretending to like it for cred
What a tool.
>choosing to be this way
>>61288352
This cringe-core shit.
>>61288483
Even if you hate the lyrics, Kendrick's style, or rap in general, it stands on its own merits as an amazing jazz/soul/R&B album. Add in the rapper undisputeably at the top of the rap game in terms of talent, and you have an album that is far from bad. Side note: if you disregard rap/hip-hop as a genre, you're a frustrated and pathetic racist.
>>61290567
>it stands on its own merits as an amazing jazz/soul/R&B album
yeah if you've listened to only 3 albums from each of those genres, it sure does
so, should i just post the /mu/core chart
this is just another "post popular albums and act superior" thread
>>61288352
You start
>>61288507
Top kek anon. It wasn't bad at all. But not his absolute best either.
/mu/ might actually be the only online music community stupid enough to vehemently hate TPAB.
The only complaint I ever see against it is "WE WUZ KINGS" bullshit, but show me a single Hip Hop album with the same caliber of original composition and Production, and I will eat my fucking hat.
ANYTHING YOU LIKE THAT IS REMOTELY POPULAR
>>61290567
>t stands on its own merits as an amazing jazz/soul/R&B album
not at all.
>>61289622
>support system
I'm not a woman like you, anonymous.
>>61289622
There are some really autistic /mu/tants, so I wouldn't be surprised.
>>61288525
I clearly have garbage taste for not thinking albums that have a score of 96, 88, 92 and 83 on Metacritic are not "well received".
>>61288525
/mu/ is not everyone. albums like TPaB are generally disliked in /mu/ but universally acclaimed everywhere, including Metacritic and RYM
>>61292934
/mu/ is filled with contrarians, plus how does your ability to determine if an album is "well received" or not have anything to do with taste.
>>61288475
Are people really being serious when they call well-received music a "meme?" I can't wrap my brain around being that shallow.
>>61292254
so how does it *not* stand on it's own merits as an exceptional jazz/soul/R&B album?
>>61293042
Fantano a person noted for his meme taste in music likes it, that's why.
>>61290346
Probably true, some of the songs have redeeming qualities though. Emit Remmus is solid IMO
>>61293061
I would love to read someone's opinion on why this album isn't great but so far the only criticism I've heard is
>pitchfork gave it a high score
>fantano liked it
>people that don't regularly listen to jazz like this album
These are not valid points of criticism.
>>61292764
>dude just listen to it another 8 times you'll get it after that
>>61293042
ITS 3 FUCKING HOURS LONG.
>>61293142
last one is.
the other two are just the cause of it.
>>61290411
Have you actually listened to PaTD? I agree with most bands in that genre like Fall Out Boy, etc. but I think earlier MCR and PaTD would surprise you...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQ17Tm_qUIE
>>61290567
> if you disregard rap/hip-hop as a genre, you're a frustrated and pathetic racist.
and proud, too. If that means disregarding an album which is being considered a masterpiece while it's not.
>>61288366
*grabs 1930s hat and moves it down, swirls cape, unsheathes katana and cuts water bottle in half while fat flaps echo loudly towards the distance*
>>61290567
> Mfw People actually disregard hip hop because they're racist.
>>61288631
decent but not as good as TPAB
