Do you like forcing shitty fucking memes like a degenerate faggot with nothing to do?

You do? Good. The first step towards being a better person is acknowledging you're a piece of shit.

Your "top 10" meme has never been funny. Never will. Nobody scrolls down the catalog, sees your post and laughs. They fucking ignore it. Why? Because you're a pathetic little 9gag crossposting memester with nothing better to do besides force shitty memes on an anonymous imageboard. Get a life. Go outside. Stop making fucking threads about a fucking buttrock band being death metal. We're sick of this. I'm sick of this." meme has never been funny. Never will. Nobody scrolls down the catalog, sees your post and laughs. They fucking ignore it. Why? Stop making fucking threads about a fucking buttrock band being death metal. We're sick of this. I'm sick of this.

But you know what? No. I won't stop there. Have you ever sat down and thought, "I could be productive?" Have you? If you haven't then here's a newsflash. In that time it took to create this thread you could have called that one girl that looks at you longingly and request a date. But no, you post a fucking "top 10" thread. Ever stop to think about what you could be doing if you didn't waste your life away in your parents' basement posting memes?

You could be an astronaut. You could be the CEO of a profitable company. You could be rich. Or, instead, you chose to post memes.

That said, It's cover does kinda look like a girl you'd see in an anime. Fuck off, meme poser

okay, honestly I just have this longstanding beef with Portishead because I feel like they're a shitty rip off Radiohead, from the theoretical aspects right on down to their name. I mean seriously, listen to the album you posted and then listen to OK Computer back to back and tell me you can't hear they are straight up ripping them, from the chord progressions to the post production aspects.
And I mean yeah, there are other artists (e.g., Muse and Coldplay) that have kind of followed Radiohead's M.O., but they have all brought something new instead of being a direct rip.

Also T. Swift is dope in her own way but there's no way she should be showing up in a "top 10 of all time" list. I mean I love her for getting fucked up and partying but not as a serious musician.

Beck is insanely good and has always been far ahead of his time. Steely Dan is pretty decent, Pink Floyd is fantastic but I wouldn't call Meddle their best album. I hate to say it but I'd have to go with one of the more mainstream ones; probably Dark Side.
Eno is important because of his innovation but there are frankly far better Ambient artists.

The other four I can't speak on because frankly I haven't listened to them

and I avidly maintain that there's no such thing as "bad music"
I regularly defend pop artists simply on the basis that "shitty" pop music helps thousands of people get through their day. The entire purpose of music since the dawn of civilization has been to be emotionally relatable and, more importantly, to help people through the rough spots. I'm a little drunk so sorry I'm not more articulate but basically I apologize for falling in to the pattern of snobbery I have spent most of my life raving against

i've been listening to her since her debut and this album really shit the bed in my opinion. it's an album that sounds 2 decades too late. listen to her other stuff. it's literally another album and an EP which are folk influenced.
>>
>>61293512
idk, I like a lot of individual tracks off her earlier albums but I feel like Glow was her first seriously cohesive full-album work. Of course I also listened to that album tripping dick a couple times which I can't say about the rest of them, and I'm sure that definitely influences my opinion. >it was really cool to see her go back to being fully instrumental

Junior was a mistake and i'm sure she can agree.
>>
>>61294231

oh yeah I'm totally not knocking the earlier albums at all. I think Gay Sons of Lesbian Mothers was actually the first song I heard by her and her use of loop pedals and her guitar-MIDI interface just completely blew me away, it was unlike anything I had heard up to that point

idk, even Junior had its moments, I really like Sunnyside and Falling Day off that album.

But I stand by Glow as her best full-album work
>>
>>61294318
>>61294231

Does anyone else have a distinction between their favorite albums and truly great albums and most important albums that leaves them feeling conflicted when mentally compiling these lists?

My tastes have changed over time and years locked desert island records have fallen out of favor, sure. Albums that are more important not just to the history of music, but to the development of my own musical interests I don't treasure as much as more generic ones. There are even albums that I would consider to be flat out better than my favorites but I can't slip into the mood of their songs as comfortably.

Anyway, in no particular order:

Shotmaker - The Crayon Club
Helvetia - Gladness Sessions
Cut The Shit - Harmed and Dangerous
Miles Davis - Big Fun
Autechre - Draft 7.30
Valium Aggelein - Heir Kommt Der Schwartze Mond
Isotope 217 - Utonian Automatic
Cex – Dannibal
Villain Accelerate – Maid of Gold
Helvetia – The Clever North Wind
