it's debatable, but i'll be damned if someone thinks the meetings between him, eno, and visconti weren't some of the greatest shit of all time

David Bowie redefined what pop music can be, and the world has yet to catch up with him.
>>61286609
Everything eno touched was gold, yet he's still so underrated.

Eno is probably my favorite artist.
His glam rock work is some of my favorite of the genre, and his contribution to the ambient stage and its resulting impact on music should be hammered into mainstream society.
He really is a genius.
Bowie's cool too :^)

I get the feeling that Eno likes being underrated. He gets to work on what he wants, not what others want him to do.
>>61286413
I read some production info about that and Visconti setup a mic on the other side of the room, and one in between, and gated them so when he bellowed out that loud stuff those mics would get it. Supposedly Bowie sings so loud you can't be in the same room with him.
Also I read that he wrote the lyrics to Heroes while in the shitter.

No, you nailed it.

>>61288893
Eno's contribution to Bowie is pretty overrated.
>>61288905
It was three mics IIRC; one up close, one a few feet away and then one real far away
>tfw you will never experience Bowie bellowing deafeningly loud vocals IRL ;w;
Bowie's such an unusual vocalist, but he sure had some pipes on him in his day.
>>61288964
oh, so that's what he was saying
i'm disappointed that eno would debase his art with such a crude reference to s*x
>>61289291
my man you better be fucking with me
sometimes I suddenly recall Eno and Bowie collaborated, and I feel a burst of happiness
david bowie's newest album is inspired by Death Grips, BoC, & Kendrick

>>61289420
blackstar confirmed AOTY 2016
what if he and Death Grips collaborated?
they sampled him so the group must be fond of his music. I bet if he approached them they'd do it.
OH NO LOVE
YOU'RE NOT ALONE

Can you imagine? Fuck that would be crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if they at least toured together, and even that would be crazy

ftfy, he's still at it, jesus christ just look what he did to Coldplay with Death And All His Friends / Prospekt's March
>>61289558
Why not one last show? ;_;
And fuck, why did he waste ten years of not releasing music.
>I CATCH THE PAPER BOY
>>61289606
yeah a final Bowie show would be great
idk man, he spent the bulk of the 2000s touring from what I remember
one last career-spanning show in Berlin would be fantastic though, once Blackstar is out
>>61289598
>eno
No it wasn't. Plebs give Eno far too much credit for Bowie when clearly it was people like Visconti and Alomar behind the scenes.
>>61289558
It really caught up to him in those past ten years. He looked great in 2004 when he was touring. :'3
>>61289646
Make it a live broadcast with an all-star line-up (i.e.Carlos Alomar, Mike Garson, Reeves Gabrels, Fripp, Eno, Visconti, Iggy Pop just to name a few) and then you have something.
>>61289558
Oh yeah I forgot that I think I heard that. That's a damn shame, I never got to see him live. I did see Blackstar, very interesting video and song, left me excited for the album. He does definitely look old, it's true. Still looks pretty nimble though, but if he doesn't want to tour I respect that. While there are older artists that still tour, he probably has his reasons.
>>61289771
70th birthday coming up, you never know... Oh god I would love Bowie forever if that happened. ;w;

I think as a composer/songwriter he basically takes the cake for 20th century.
I feel like people don't grasp that Bowie is a platform for Jones to try things out with. I swear to god, all my hothead hipster friends who think their music taste makes them deeper than the ocean. Gushing over radiohead then calling Bowie shallow.

I've always been a huge fan but I just went to the museum exhibit on him the other day.
What's incredible about him is not only is he probably the greatest pop artist of all of the 20th century, he did everything himself. His costumes? Videos? Acting? Artwork? The man is a god damned genius.
Is this the 2001: A Space Odyssey of metal ?
