It just seems like the perfect pretentious college art rock album to me though. It's filled with these stupid "philosophical" rants shouted over scratching noises but they just pull it off so well. The beginning punch of the first three songs followed by a slower passage and the huge difference in content between the first and the second half makes it a really interesting and most of all well-paced listen everytime I put it on

Shade and It Doesn't Arrive were my only complaints for Does It Look Like I'm Here. The first listen to anything from this was a while ago, but it was a pretty magical first listen. Being able to hear the full album was incredibly fun, I just might need to give it further listens to fully love it. I've done 3 so far.

It's been years since I've heard Nevermind. I used to play it all the time as a kid and absolutely loved it, pretty much nothing's changed about it today and I still feel the same as I did for it back then. I don't like it being in my 10/10s either but it hits all my knobs, so it's just there.
Arca's album... I just wasn't feeling any of it. It's technically impressive, I just didn't enjoy it musically. The piano interludes that went throughout the album gave me a headache much in the same vein as that double album deadmau5 did (which wasn't very good), but there's also some sounds he used in the album that literally sounded like nails on a chalkboard to me. There's also these keys that he uses around the album that sound like the musical equivalent of reversing the colours of a picture. In fact, that's a perfect description for the entire album; to me, it feels like the musical equivalent of reversing the colours of a picture, it just feels creepy to look at and it's a little scary.
I can perfectly understand why someone would enjoy it, I just didn't like any of it. I almost gave it a 3, but the last stretch of it was just uncomfortable for me.

The Bends is my favorite. The whole experimentation thing in their later albums can get a bit kitschy sometimes, while The Bends is just a great, sincere alt rock album.
