is vaporwave dead?
>>
hopefully.
>>
>>61277221
For me it is, it's pretty much ruined now.

>>
viper will keep releasing music forever
>>
>>61277250
And it's pretty sad, Vaporwave was a good genre with good music to feel good. i loved it.
>>
>>61277264
Vaporwave was overglorified chopped and screwed, by tumblr kiddies for tumblr kiddies.
>>
>>61277280

>he thinks vaporwave is only rap
>>
>>61277293
Who are you quoting?
>>
>>61277280
Why are you looking at the bad side of things? Slowed down funk music with japanese commercials is pretty comfy and some good music for the sumner, don't try to see the d33p side of it.
>>
>>61277299

a friend who goes by the name implication
>>
>>61277221
Not even close. It dies every few months, then a few more great releases come out, then it dies again, and this just repeats constantly.
>>
>>61277221
there were some good releases this year, I'll Try Living Like This was really fucking good, way better than anything i expected from such a boring, lazy genre

other than that, here's to hoping, i kinda like the vaporambient shit though
>>
>>61277264
wrong, vaporwave is cancer.

I'm not talking about the shitty Dream Catalogue music, mind you, i'm talking about when vaporwave was like, a small joke, something you could influence your music, not that shit album 2814, nothing serious, god damn.
>>
>>61277303
I prefer my comfy obscure funk music not slowed down and with no artificial reverb and with less attention to aesthetics at the expense of music quality, thank you very much.
>>
>>61277382

well that's just like your opinion man
>>
>>61277280
If you'd been here longer than half a year you'd know that vaporwave started and viraled on here
>>
>>61277424
a bunch of sharethreads about an obscure and niche music genre are hardly what I'd call "viralled"
>>
>>61277320
sounds like someone who found out about vaporwave in a rolling stone magazine
>>
>>61277455
Yeah, because Floral Shoppe and other classic vaporwave releases are in no way known albums around the internet, right?
>>
>>61277455
i bet you listen to ac/dc and laugh at people at your school for listening to justin beiber
>>
>>61277485
He's not wrong tho, Vaporwave is now cancer, like, the purest form of cancer, like i said above, i loved it.
>>
>>61277489
back in summer 2012 it wasn't

Floral Schoppe was shared alongside other sutff like Mediafired and whatnot, the former caught on because /mu/ likes to meme (read: spam album covers)
>>
>>61277221
But this has been a great year for vaporwave with a lot of excellent release like I'll Try Living Like This which is one of the best vaporwave album ever made

Vaporwave died because people like this don't understand what good vaporwave is but still have an opinion.
>>
yes and dream catalogue is the murderer

There's so much potential left in the genre. There's a lot of room for original composition left that's currently occupied by fuckwits who'd rather slow down 80's Pop and AOR in Audacity than Produce their own stuff.
>>
>>61277695
Vaporwave is about sampling, if you're not going to sample anything then it's going to be synthwave, house music or nu-funk.
>>
>>61277741
>not sampling your own music

>>

That hi8 shit is pretty fucking shit. Every other skate/bmx edit with it is shit.

Pretty happy this vaporwave thing is dying, tumblr fads invading everything.
