I have literally hundreds of instrumentals but can't writer a lyric to save my life. any tips?

There won't be some eureka moment where something you write suddenly won't be cringey. You have to practice both writing and performing. You have to do it.

Vocals don't have to be a main part of the melody. From listening to bands like Women, it struck me how vocals can sit alongside instrumentation in the mix, as opposed to being 'on top' of the mix. Lyrics don't need to be intelligible either. So I guess what I'm saying is; treat vocals like any other instrument without priority and just write anything that fills the void.

all I would add is spend time doing things that inspire you and thinking about it I guess. Yesterday I watched a GZA interview where he was talking about how inspired he was by the universe and it was inspiring and cool to me and made alot of sense thought I am not a rapper. Read books n shit

I like to write poems, they're basically songs so you can try that... If it helps. And personally, the best poems I've written were thought of during what ever that was happening around. If anything just journal your thoughts and read a lot, it really does help.
