I get that Pearl Jam and Nirvana are better bands but Nickelback is similar enough that I think there fans could find something in it they like, or at least be indifferent.

If you listen to enough Nirvana or Pearl Jam you'll realize that Nickelback actually sounds absolutely nothing like them. Nickelback basically took the original grunge style and watered it down completely, removing all aspects of genuine emotion and personality from the music in order to make it radio friendly. As a result,they also made it sound incredibly boring.

Also, Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder were both extremely talented vocalists, whereas Chad Kroeger sounds like he's trying to sing directly out of his colon.
