It's interesting how Mr. Bungle's sound works. Bands inspired by them like estradasphere, Darth vegas etc. are great bands don't get me wrong. However the gap in quality is painfully apparent I feel.
When Mr. Bungle would do this crazy out of left field genre switching it always felt logical and natural somehow. Yet when other bands do it, it comes across as forced and unnatural. You know what I mean?

Songs were more cohesive and albums were more cohesive I think. These guys Mr. Bungle inspired are great but a lot of what they do is show off. Mr. Bungle worked because they weren't showing off they were just saying what they wanted to say and getting out.
