Is Sabbath the definite dad rock band?
>>
The Beatles are the ultimate dadrock band, Sabbath is the ultimate dadmetal band
>>
Nah, that would be Grand Funk Railroad
>>
>>61246353
No that would be Foreigner.
>>
It's Crosby, Stills and Nash you absoute cunts
>>
Its ACDC ffs
>>
>>61246393
Folk-rock isn't rock enough to be the ULTIMATE dadrock.

>>61246408
Didn't they only get famous in the 80s? Dadrock is primarily a 70s phenomenon.

Journey?
>>
>sabbath
>dad rock

kill yourself as soon as possible
>>
where are these stoner/doom dads and how can I get one
>>
Guns n roses

>>

>>
Rolling Stones
>>
>>61246353
Not for me; that's Staind and Limp Biskit.
>>
>>61246457
Back In Black came in 80 and they were already big before that with Bon Scott
>>
Sabbath is just too good and influential for that title - rather even Led Zeppelin, but I'd maybe say something like Boston or Deep Purple
>>
>>61246457
best ACDC is 70's ACDC

Bon Scott died in February 1980, dude.
>>
Rush

Not saying Rush is in any way bad, but it is the very pinnacle of dad rock
>>
>>61246457
I once went to a ACDC concert, i'm pretty sure everyone there was a dad
>>
>>61246956
lol
>>
>>61247155
Rush, Journey, Queensrÿche

Seriously dad rock tier heavy hitters
>>
>>61247127
dadrock is a way of life
it's about collecting tin cans to sell for cash to buy dog food in your Ford Ranger after visiting Carl's Jr
>>
Putting my vote in for Boston. Their entire s/t is still worshipped on the dad rock channel
>>
>>61247146
AC/DC
Beatles
Black Sabbath
Crosby, Still, Nash And Young
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Rolling Stones
Rush

All tops, get to fuck!
>>
>>61247240

>>

>>
>>61247268

>>61247275
nice
>>
>>61247420
I think it's actually a worthwhile discussion whether Sabbath was just an evolution of blues based music or a revolution

it's technically a small step from Jimmy Page to Toni Iommi, but on the other hand I think it's also proved to be a great leap in terms of music culture and further developments in guitar driven music
>>
I don't think my dad even listens to music. I've never heard him listen to anything other than talk radio.
>>
>>61247401
my dad used to love the eagles of death metal. atleast he died listening to a band he loved
>>
>>61247423
as long as there are dads, there will be dadrock - every generation will feel weird about digging the same music their parents did when they start getting seriously interested in music
>>
REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Boston, Journey, whatever.
>>
Paranoid and Master of Reality are dad rock. The rest really isn't but Black Sabbath with Dio especially isn't.
>>
>>61247568
Paranoid and Master of Reality are too influential and interesting for younger listeners to be branded as dad rock only

Ultimately dad rock is rock that dads like and think of as influential or essential, but children really don't
>>
>>61247475
>every generation will feel weird about digging the same music their parents did
there are probably more people that like bands like Zeppelin, Sabbath, Beatles etc than there were back then
