ITT: Proto, punk, art Punk, post Punk, new wave, hardcore... Everything that tends to punk
Already checked Scaruffi's lists
SYNTHPUNK REVIVAL WHEN
WHERE IS THE GLAM-FASCISM
WHERE DID THE ANGRY VIRGINS GO
IT'S ALMOST 2016
IT'S T I M E
Listening to pic related right now. Anymore recs for good bands that blend jazz, non-western folk music, and punk?
Another band I've found recently that fits this criteria (and is deeper into the blending) is Kletka Red.

what are good synthpunk albums besides suicide s/t
Art Punk of the 90's, really enjoyed this one.
I think it's a bit famous but I don't remember it of being in one of scaruffi lists or essentials /mu chart
do any other fall albums sound like this? besides it i have only listened to grotesque and live at the witch trials

Most of their albums sound similar. They're pretty consistent. At least as far as I've listened. Not sure which album I like the most but both the album before and after Hex Enduction Hour are great.

Proto-hardcore, because playing this fast used to be considered artsy. They would go full post-punk/new wave by the time they recorded a full-length album, but it sounds like a perfectly logical conclusion after listening through their earlier works. These guys were always about stiff rhythms and minimalist songwriting.
Proto-emo band Rites of Spring broke up for a while and then reformed under the name Happy Go Licky. HGL took RoS's sound was closer to Tago Mago or Deceit complete with cryptic lyrics and tape manipulation ala MoB's Martin Swope.

Refused is proto-nu-metal garbage
>>61237773
Explain why.
>>61237801
because musically that album is similar to nu-metal
the lyrics are also pretty awful

anything by steve albini or recorded by him is a must
songs about fucking
two nuns and a pack mule
at action park
goat
liar
surfer rosa
scratch or stitch
hissing prigs in static couture
in utero if you're a normie. if you want to listen to this, stop thinking of it as a nirvana album, think of it as a 90s punk album with godlike production.
jon spencer blues explosion is a great band with many albini-produced albums, but no definitive magnum opus (imo)
comets on fire is a great band

Fish & Roses
Arty, mathy, undefinable post-punk. organ/bass/drrums, M&F vocals.

Off the top of my head.
Albums that do the party hardcore punk sound better than Refused:
The Trans-Megetti - Steal The Jet Keys
Frodus - Conglomerate International
Hot Snakes - Audit in Progress
Lifetime - Jersey's Best Dancers
Rocket From the Crypt - Group Sounds
Bands Refused (badly) imitated their revolutionary/beatnik subculture aesthetic from:
Nation of Ulysses
The Yah Mos

Shit, I forgot early Rye Coalition
